Industrial endoscopes are widely used because of their intuitive effects, no need for disassembly, and accurate results. We often hear names such as automotive endoscopes, police endoscopes, and wind power endoscopes, but in fact these are just some names based on applications, not scientific classification methods. So, what types of industrial endoscopes are there?
According to the traditional classification method of industry insiders, industrial endoscopes can be divided into: optical straight rod endoscopes, industrial fiber endoscopes, and industrial video endoscopes.
1. Optical straight-rod endoscope: It uses optical lens group imaging, is good at straight channel detection (such as deep hole defect detection of castings), has good imaging fidelity, and the diameter is 1.7mm-10mm;
2. Industrial fiber endoscope: It uses fiber bundle imaging. Compared with straight-rod endoscope, the clarity of fiber endoscope is slightly inferior, but the insertion tube part is bendable, and the diameter can be made very thin. The diameter is 0.4mm-12.7mm;
3. Industrial video endoscope: It uses image sensor imaging. Compared with the optical imaging of straight-rod endoscope and fiber endoscope, the digital imaging technology of video endoscope facilitates the digital management of detection images and detection information, which provides great convenience for industrial detection and is also better in quantitative analysis. The diameter is 2.2mm-8.4mm.
In addition to the above-mentioned small-caliber industrial endoscopes, there are also types of industrial endoscopes for large-caliber detection in actual applications, including: industrial pipeline endoscopes, remote video remote monitoring PTZ systems, and crawling robots.
4. Industrial pipeline endoscope: Use reinforced flexible push-pull cables to push the camera into the deep pipeline for inspection. The cable length is 30m, 60m and other different configurations, which can detect pipelines with a diameter of 60mm-300mm;
5. Remote video remote monitoring PTZ system: Its feature is that the camera can rotate in the horizontal and vertical planes. It is also called pan-tilt zoom camera, zoom pan-tilt endoscope, pan-tilt camera system, etc. Its camera usually has a total zoom capability of up to hundreds of times and can be placed in a channel with a diameter of 76mm-140mm for inspection;
6. Pipeline crawling robot: It consists of a trolley carrying the camera, a cable reel and a control unit. The trolley can crawl in the pipeline for inspection, has the ability to climb over obstacles and make sharp turns, and the crawling distance can reach 200m. It can be used for conventional pipeline inspections with an inner diameter of 100mm-1500mm.
The above industrial endoscopes can not only use imaging technology to assist inspectors in accurately understanding the specific conditions inside complex industrial facilities, but also have their own characteristics in imaging principles, detection diameters, detection lengths, and bendability, providing more options for detection in diverse industrial environments.
